digidestiny2099: Ummm...You got 1037pm's comment and my response all wrong. Their comment said Patti hasn't sang for that large of an audience IN YEARS, not ever. I am a HUGE Patti fan. However, she doesn't sing in stadiums like this anymore. She usually sings in more intimate venues. I wasn't putting her against Beyonce, but simply stating she is one of the few performers still performing in arenas by herself.
Sander Groot, de: Totally true:-D! Or one year later, 1986: the Centennial for the Statue of Liberty -> the Giants Stadium (capacity appr. 80.000 people, which is 3-4 times more than the United Center).
On the other hand: who cares? I loooooooove this post (thank you so very much, LaBelleOfTheBall2) and as far as I know, Beyoncé and miss Patti are quite good friends with each other. Just watch "I stand by you"- sung by Patti LaBelle at Destiny's Child's farewell tribute.

Those were like the biggest crowds in concert history. Beyonce has performed all over the world and has had twice the amount of people at her concerts.

digidestiny2099: That's the truth. However, that's probably the biggest audience that most of the performers have sang in front of/are going to sing in front of, excluding Beyonce. That's a huge arena. Most of today's top stars can't even fill that.

I love that even the mega-talented Josh Groban knows that when you are singing with the great Patti LaBelle, you are singing back-up. Chills and tears every single time.
