cuchelo1: My evidence is locked up inside my head- as in the experience of watching thousands of shows in which people sang without autotune. And my writing style is appropriate for YouTube comments. I'm not going to continue this discussion because for one, I don't think you're interested in discussing anything. I think you're looking for validation of your opinion, and I can't give that to you because I don't agree with it. And more importantly, it's taking away from this video, which I enjoy very much.

cuchelo1: Read my comment carefully. I believe there are plenty of people who can sing 100% pitch perfect. However, they will not be able to do that 100% of the time. That is not contradictory. I'm talking about two different things, and it's based on plenty of empirical evidence. For 7 years I worked in a cabaret room in New York City, where I saw literally thousands of shows, many of them by people who were professional singers on Broadway,etc. And they were able to sing an entire song pitch perfect.

I would agree with your point that "plenty of singers [...] are pretty darn close." I would say that "pretty darn close" is not 100% pitch perfect. I'm arguing that there is no one who is 100% pitch perfect throughout an entire song.

In the chorus there are some very light background vocals, maybe that's what you're talking about. But even that sounds natural to me. DiDar08: It's definitely not just reverb. Listen to live CDs from the early 90s. That is what reverb sounds like sans autotune. The problem for me with autotune is that the voice ends up sounding very robotic and unnatural. I think it wipes out all the character from the voice. No matter how "good" a singer is, no one is 100% pitch perfect throughout a song. This recording sounds like a machine is singing. The version by musicbygabi sounds much more natural by comparison. What do you think?
cuchelo1: I have a problem with people complaining about autotune on virtually every live performance. Believe it or not, some singers are actually good enough to stay on pitch all by themselves. Sometimes reverb is added to make the voice sound 'fuller' or to match the tone of the instruments, which is what it sounds like to me, but this guy sounds like he's singing naturally to me.
